One step closer to South America
In the end of last year, Enviro received a large batch of tyre shreds from South American mining tyres. The delivery is part of the company’s efforts to establish a plant in Chile in order to recycle the country’s large amounts of discarded mining tyres.
– Mining tyres are larger than normal tyres and they also differ in terms of substance. We therefore needed to cut the tyres down to sizes that fit our process and technology, says Martin Hagbyhn, Enviro’s CEO.
The objective of the delivery has been for Enviro to evaluate the tyres’ quality, and also if they can be properly processed by Enviro’s plant in Åsensbruk.
– The tyres were run three times throughout the process and the results have been positive, we’ve only had to make minor adjustments to our process. We will now proceed to evaluate the extracted material, in particularly the carbon black, says Martin Hagbyhn.
